biography
hi, i'm the lead singer of Pink Tie Fridays, a Long Island based rock band. i write most of the songs, so the material i post here will be for the most part composed by me. thanks for listening.
Dear Anonymous,
My favorite song I've written so far probably... the concept of this one is a love letter to a girl the persona feels he about to meet. I used a sort of strange tuning -- the B string is tuned down to an A, which makes for I think some pretty cool open chords -- similar to what Billy Corgan did for Muzzle. The levels in the beginning for the acoustic relative to the vocals are a little low, and the drums we could only record with a single mic, but I still think it came out pretty well. Really meaningful song for me - hope you like.
Grey + Blue
A song I wrote about a year and a half ago, with lyrics reflecting a pivotal point in my growing up. The drums are not recorded well here (cymbals are painful and the timing is off sometimes) but it was the best we could get.
Here Goes Nothing
A really chill song I wrote about a year ago in one sitting, at a time when I had just ended a long relationship and had way too many emotions going around in my head. The main riff of the song (the one in the intro) is an electric guitar that we threw a bassy effect onto.
headphone splitter ok?
hey everyone,
when i record and mix down, i always do it with one of my bandmates using a pair of headphones for a monitor. it's often tiresome to have both of us listen to what we've recorded separately, and we don't have the money to spend on high-quality studio monitors, so do you think it would make sense for us to use a headphone splitter so we could listen to what we've recorded at the same time? or would a splitter degrade the sound quality too much to be helpful in mixing?
thanks alot!

The Cost
This is the first song I've ever written, back at a time when I was still picking up the basics of guitar.
